Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Soup taste so so, nothing special, not tasty at all. Super fresh King Crab. The Singapore sauce for the King Crab is also so so only. Pricy. Service is very slow although you have made reservation and pre-ordered yet still late in serving for almost 1 hour wait. Staffs are friendly. Slow serving for almost every dish and drink."
"Love how the mala soup is tasty yet numbing my lips. Their noodle, beancurd and beef set menu is really something tasty. Staffs were busy because too many people hence was a bit hard to get their attention."
"Had lunch here with a group of friends and we were all very satisfied! The taste of the hot pot was authentic and flavorful—perfect balance of spices and broth depth. The ingredients were fresh, and the dipping sauces were excellent. Service was attentive and friendly, making our dining experience smooth and enjoyable. Definitely recommended for hot pot lovers looking for quality and comfort in the heart of South Jakarta!"
"Came here for the first time with friends. We arrived midnight and the place were not full. But, I would say the service was not the best. Normally, when you go to the self-service restaurant, they will ask you if it’s your first time here or not, but they don’t do that. So, me and my friends cluelessly order the food with THE TAB they had. No information about the food, the sauces stand, the refill drinks, etc. We even had to asked 3 times for the bills For the food itself, I could say I had better ones than this."
"I’ve been here several times and it has officially become one of my regular hot pot spots—especially after they went no pork, no lard (yeay!). That alone makes it much easier and more comfortable for me to keep coming back. Reservation can be a bit tricky, but thankfully they still accept walk-ins. The place isn’t very big, but it’s cozy and comfortable. Tables are slightly on the smaller side, especially if you order a lot (like I usually do ), but it’s still manageable. The soups are all great. Chicken broth is a must every visit, and I also love switching between laksa, creamy mala, or prawn broth depending on my mood. All ingredients are consistently fresh and well prepared. My personal favorites: - Chicken & prawn paste - Beancurd (Fried & Not) - Meat platter (always satisfying) The condiment bar is complete, giving you freedom to customize your sauce exactly how you like it. On top of that, the staff are very friendly, quick to assist, and attentive, which makes the whole dining experience even better. Overall, Chongqing Senopati is a solid and reliable hot pot place with great broth, fresh ingredients, and warm service—definitely one I’ll keep coming back to"
"The food and service were absolutely 5-star. We reduced the rating to four stars due to operational and spatial issues during a busy Sunday lunch. We were successfully placed on the waitlist after being directed to walk in (reservations were already closed). However, the main drawbacks were: 1. Limited Parking: Self-parking felt difficult, requiring reliance on valet. 2. Cramped Dining: The dining area felt noticeably cramped during that peak hour. An outstanding culinary experience held back by peak-hour logistics and a tight dining space."
"Wise man said if ur hotpot is not good it means u are having a cheap corny hotpot and he suggests just to find a grill place instead. It doesn't apply to this place. Definitely revisit to enjoy their creamy mala broth with their signature wagyu and their beancurd. Even the modern chinese ambience complimented the warm hotpot really well."
"To order: Crispy Fish Skin, Corn Salted Egg, Chicken Bone Broth, Meatball Platter, Chicken Mushroom & Pocai Wonton, Round Fish Maw, Chinese Cabbage, Crispy Beancurd Roll, Shitake, Chinese Spinach, Premium Sirloin Don’t order: Crispy Mala Chicken (it’s not crispy at all!), Mee Sua"
